Track Academy, founded by Connie Henry, are a registered charity using sport for social change among young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We use athletics to engage young people at risk; providing inspiration, role models and a structured pathway for them to gain better academic qualifications and positive achievements on and off the track. SPORT PROGRAMME: Led by renowned international coaches and former world class athletes, sessions are aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and providing insights into basic athletics training all the way to international vests. We work to help student-athletes understand that it is good education which underpins a successful athletics career. EDUCATION PROGRAMME: Tailored to the needs of the individual student-athlete, our innovative academic system improves performance. And with academic performance a prerequisite for them to participate in the track and field activities they so love, we are able to provide motivational opportunities for student athletes to gain better qualifications and improved job prospects. MENTORING PROGRAMME: Weekly mentoring and most importantly micro-mentoring sessions with inspirational athletes and respected members of our community, help student-athletes develop leadership skills and positive outlooks on their challenges in life. These confidential sessions provide a forum to share experiences, concerns and aspirations.Charity
