Together we transform lives through sailing
About Andrew Simpson Foundation : The Sailing Charity
The Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF) was founded in memory of, and inspired by, Olympic gold medallist sailor Andrew Simpson. Its ethos is to facilitate wider participation in sailing and to maximise the benefits the sport can deliver to young people and society. The foundation aims to be inclusive by encouraging participation from children and young people from all backgrounds, including those with physical or educational abilities that may require support. It promotes health and wellbeing and helps develop personal skills that support success in life and work. ASF works with sailing providers to offer financial and practical support, helping remove barriers such as cost, disability, mental health challenges, and social exclusion. Bart's Bash is an annual fundraising and mass participation sailing campaign organised by the Andrew Simpson Foundation. It brings together sailors from around the world in a global event in memory of Andrew Simpson. Open to sailing clubs, yacht clubs, scout groups, sea cadets, windsurfing clubs, individuals, and other venues worldwide, the race format can be set locally by each venue.
