About One in Four UK

One in Four is a charity specialising in supporting survivors of sexual violence and abuse, particularly survivors of child sexual abuse and trauma. We support survivors to work through the trauma of abuse, helping them to transform and rebuild their lives. We provide: - Specialist long-term counselling support up to 2 years - Advocacy support - Post-counselling workshops for survivors maintaining long-term support - Professional training for counsellors, social workers and other mental health professionals working with survivors to advance their understanding and knowledge - Relationships and sexual education programmes in schools, 1:1 counselling support to children and training to teachers and support staff - A range of publications for survivors and professionals We work with people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities, and many of our team have lived experience, which, combined with client feedback and professional standards, defines the service we provide. We provide in-person support to over 200 survivors a week through our two centres in North and South London. We work in partnership with other referral agencies and are active in local support networks. Evidence shows as many as one in four adults have experienced some form of sexual abuse before the age of 18. Our waiting lists are growing, and as a charity we are reliant on donations to help us continue our vital work.
