Who you are

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience required, combination of private and public experience preferred
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Recent experience in general ledger accounting at the Sr. Accountant or Lead level, or demonstrated equivalent operational accounting abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks concurrently in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills
  • Excellent analytical, creative problem solving, organizational, and project management skills
  • Takes initiative to implement changes that simplify and improve processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with team, management, peers, cross-functional groups, and business partners
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with interest in prioritizing and multitasking
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (VLOOKUPS, conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, data visualization, what-if-analysis)
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Desire to improve broken processes and make job easier
  • Passion for Affirm and strong interest in technology



What the job involves

  • Prepare and review journal entries related to cash operations, investments and intercompany accounting.
  • Perform month-end closing processes and financial analysis, research historical balances, and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Drive and lead processes related to accounting period close for cash operations, investments, and intercompany accounting.
  • Reconcile, analyze, and review cash operations, investments, and intercompany accounting for month-end close.
  • Manage and oversee team members, coaching, mentoring, training, and review workpapers.
  • Review procedures to improve processes for timely monthly close, accuracy of entries, and efficiency.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and monitor corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in internal control and process documentation.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements for assigned areas.
  • Lead and support ad hoc analyses and projects as assigned.
