As an Accounting Lead you have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and strong motivation to drive processes that contribute to the achievement of an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting processes. What You'll Do

Responsible for preparing and/or reviewing workpapers, journal entries, and reconciliations for key accounts in the Core Business areas of Loans and Capital MarketsYou will conduct flux analyses and align on business drivers with cross-functional partners including Credit, Quantitative Markets, Capital Markets, Merchant Pricing, and Strategic FinancePrepare schedules for Quarterly SEC reporting, and support internal and external audit requirements related to specific assigned areasProactively review current procedures and seek ways to improve processes to ensure timely monthly close, accuracy of accounting entries, and operational efficiencyPartner with cross-functional teams to provide accounting requirements on product changes related to your areas of ownership and incorporate new transactions or processes into the GLContribute to reconciliation projects by partnering directly with engineering and/or Financial Platform teams Creatively solve challenges and effectively communicate and execute on opportunities for process improvements and developing scalable solutions that keep up with the pace of business change

What We Look For

4+ years of relevant professional experience is required (public accounting experience preferred)CPA required (may consider candidates on track to earn their CPA in the near term)Solid understanding of US GAAP, and ability to partner with the Technical Accounting team on accounting policy implementation and adherenceAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills required (such as VLOOKUPS & conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, what-if-analysis)SQL experience or strong interest in developing SQL skills preferredExcellent project management skills and ability to foster cross-functional collaboration to drive meaningful improvements to the close processThe desire to improve processes and make your own job easier over time, taking ownership of all aspects of your functional areaPassion for Affirm and a strong interest in technology, money movement, BNPL, and consumer lending

Base Pay Grade - I

Equity Grade - 5

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $115,000 - $155,000

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $102,000 - $142,000

Affirmers in proximal roles have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office.
