Who you are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Engineering Technology or Industrial Design
  • 3 + years of experience in design of complex additive or gas turbine components
  • Strong expertise in design software tools such as NX and SolidWorks
  • Experience with handling 3D scan data and creating parametric models
  • System level CAD model parametric modeling and PLM/PDM experience
  • Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations
  • Strong oral and written communication interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
  • Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams

What the job involves

  • Work with engineers to execute the design analysis and evaluation of turbomachinery components using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements
  • Create definitions of parts modules and assemblies in various formats to support analysis manufacturing and assembly
  • Provide quality checks to eliminate interferences and ensure interface requirements are met
  • Perform reverse engineering by using scan data and creating new part models using parametric modeling
  • Ensure product designs follow standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Support design reviews and collaborate with other disciplines in design performance controls and system integration
  • Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design
  • Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing
  • Role will initially be an individual contributor comfortable working in a dynamic self-directed start-up environment with the potential for future team leadership
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices
