Remote Aircraft Structural Design Engineer Job in Chicago, IL Anuvu

Who you are

• Requires 4+ years in the aviation/aerospace or similar industry and 2+ years in a mechanical design capacity
• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace engineering with Structural concentration MS preferred
• Requires working knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD tools specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Design Engineer Compliance Verification Engineer roles under EASA DOA and P21J procedures is a plus
• Knowledge of STC process and experience working with FAA DER
• Knowledge of FAR and CS rules and regulations
• Comfortable working with strict timelines and excellent written and verbal communication skills

What the job involves

• Accomplish detailed design of aircraft equipment installations and modifications including parts assemblies installation drawings and instructions parts lists and aircraft manual supplements
• Design the mechanical and structural aspects for the integration of Anuvu’s connectivity and video-on-demand systems into the aircraft
• Provide structural/mechanical engineering expertise and communicate relevant information within the organization and supporting groups
• Prepare and/or review structural load stress fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
• Prepare and/or review documentation to ensure satisfaction of customer company and regulatory requirements
• Monitor and report status against project requirements
• Support aircraft surveys design reviews and aircraft modifications
