Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active Bar license
- Minimum 10 years of legal experience
- Significant in-house experience at a PBM or health insurance carrier
- Direct in-house PBM or payor experience required
- Strong understanding of state and federal PBM laws and regulations
- Knowledge of ERISA and HIPAA
- Excellent analytical problem solving and negotiation skills
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Highly effective written and verbal communication abilities

Day to day
- Serve as primary legal counsel for the PBM business unit and advise executive leadership on strategy regulatory developments and business risk
- Interpret and apply state PBM laws federal PBM reform HIPAA and other healthcare regulations with sound practical judgment
- Draft structure and negotiate contracts identify compliance issues and legal risks and develop tailored solutions
- Support regulatory inquiries litigation matters outside counsel management and cross functional business needs across the organization
