What the job involves
Conduct pre-flight checks and routine maintenance on navigation safety and operating systems to ensure aircraft is fully operational
Interface with air traffic controllers regarding flight routes weather conditions and more
Track flight hours to determine schedule for preventative maintenance ensuring instruments are certified in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations
Maintain written and computerized flight logs and aircraft/pilot records to comply with FAA regulations and other federal guidelines
Participate in training and remain current on FAA Airworthiness Directives and related periodic publications
Operate aircraft safely and efficiently to maximize cost effectiveness of each flight
Require flexibility in work schedules including weekdays and standby on weekends
