What the job involves

• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements including maintaining up-to-date statutory registers and ensuring compliance with filing obligations liaising with the Charity Commission and other external partner organisations and stakeholders
• Developing and updating internal corporate governance and compliance policies and procedures (e g safeguarding money laundering anti-bribery data protection business continuity etc ) as well as providing advice and guidance to the Board on the implications of business decisions on corporate governance and regulatory matters
• Supporting the boards of directors and board committees through the drafting of board papers and packs the taking of minutes at board and stakeholder meetings and assisting generally with board and committee meeting administration
• Convening and providing administration for annual general meetings providing legal financial and or strategic advice during and outside of meetings
• Keeping up-to-date with regulatory or statutory changes and policies that might affect the organisation
• Ensuring that policies are up-to-date and are approved
• Communicating with external professionals involved in corporate governance such as auditors
• Implementing processes or systems to help ensure good management of the organisation or compliance with legislation
