Who you are

  • Experienced senior journalist and editor
  • NCTJ or equivalent qualification
  • Media law knowledge
  • Proven track record of working at Editor level
  • Experience within digital publishing, audience engagement, and distribution
  • Knowledge of content distribution through social and secure channels
  • Experienced people manager or possesses skills for a managerial role
  • First class communicator who can attend conferences
  • Able to motivate a team



What the job involves

  • You will ensure an optimised workflow is in place so all news titles benefit from central distribution support.
  • You will support the Executive Editor and make sure work carried out by the team is as impactful and efficient as possible across all referrers and targeted content types.
  • You will support other departments like SEO, Marketing, and Insights to help them achieve their objectives.
  • You will be responsible for key reporting areas of distribution, providing regular group-wide updates and guidance on platform and topic performance.
  • You will act quickly to take advantage of the best possible opportunity at any given time, always ensuring best practices are followed.
  • You will directly manage a team, creating a supportive and efficient working environment.
  • This role involves working shifts on a rota pattern (shifts between 6am and 10pm), working 1 weekend in three, so a flexible approach is required.
