Project Voyager Executive Communications Manager (Secondment)

Diageo is embarking on an exciting and significant Business Transformation Programme underpinned by SAP S/4 HANA. This programme aims to drive process and data standardization and simplification over a multi-year period with global reach. The Change Management Tower is part of the Voyager Programme, strategically transforming Diageo’s business capabilities through data & digital technology for a competitive edge. Executive sponsorship is crucial for successful outcomes, requiring Diageo’s leadership to advocate for change at all levels.

Purpose Of Role

The Executive Communications Manager (ECM) is responsible for stakeholder management, engagement, and monitoring activities, focusing on communications with Executive and Leadership groups. The ECM will understand the needs of senior business leaders and the barriers to change. This will involve in-person and virtual connections, participation in Executive forums, and creating engaging materials that drive understanding and sponsorship of the programme.

Key Accountabilities

 Identify senior stakeholders & their influence across business functions; monitor sponsors' support critical to successful programme outcomes. Leverage Global Change methodology to agree on target advocacy from Executive sponsors for Voyager outcomes. Understand the impact of Voyager on Executives; plan and devise engaging materials to support their change journey. Create and execute an Executive engagement and communications strategy through a targeted communications plan covering all programme waves. Capture and monitor advocacy for or opposition to changes driven by Voyager and track with the Global Comms team. Build understanding of the programme status, issues, and opportunities; integrate key messages into communications. Integrate Exec communications scheduling with Programme Management and Global & Regional communications plans. Support the development of the Voyager narrative and communications blueprint for Executive activities. Identify and create effective communication channels for senior stakeholders from a global, regional, and local perspective. Collaborate with third-party communications service providers and Regional/Local teams to launch communications. Lead and develop content for stakeholder engagement events to foster strong stakeholder engagement through interactions. Measure effectiveness of communications and take remediation actions as needed. Support Global Change Lead, Global Comms lead, and Voyager Programme Leadership Team in various activities.


Qualifications And Experience Required

Significant experience in planning and influencing senior leaders for change.Strong knowledge of Diageo’s communication channels and ability to innovate for engagement.Track record of collaborating with third-party providers to achieve project goals.Experience in stakeholder event planning & delivery. Degree educated.Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages for various audiences.Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and deliver high-quality communications on tight timelines.Proficient in tools for developing plans and communications content (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Yammer/Viva Engage, Teams, Synthesia, Canva, Poppulo, etc.).
