Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related subject may substitute for 2 years of experience
  • Experience interviewing individuals with disabilities including cognitive or mental health disabilities
  • Experience gathering information from multiple sources including documents and witnesses
  • Attention to detail and understanding of client confidentiality
  • Valid CA driver’s license and willingness to drive
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time

Day to day

  • Conduct site reviews and investigations of SSA representative payees to detect misuse mismanagement or fraud of beneficiary income
  • Review financial records interview clients witnesses and stakeholders and document findings in clear accurate reports that meet SSA standards
  • Provide corrective action plans technical assistance referrals outreach education and training to support compliance and protect vulnerable beneficiaries
