Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in law firm and/or in-house commercial or transactional roles
  • Strong understanding of commercial B2B laws SaaS eCommerce data privacy data security and intellectual property
  • CIPP/US certification required
  • JD required
  • Must be in good standing in New York or able to obtain good standing
  • Proven ability to manage outside counsel effectively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers
  • Comfort working in fast-paced unstructured environments with a collaborative hands-on approach

Day to day

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements for SaaS, eCommerce, and partnership relationships
  • Partner with revenue, product, and business teams to create scalable contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation workflows
  • Advise on data privacy, data security, intellectual property, compliance, corporate governance, vendor management, and legal process improvements
  • Translate complex legal issues into clear practical guidance while managing outside counsel and reducing business risk
