Mission

The aim of Whittakers Legal Costs is to provide a first-rate, contemporary legal costs service. This means managing each case with diligence and skill, utilising technology appropriately and acting with integrity in furtherance of your interests in the costs proceedings. As a sole practitioner with extensive experience of dealing with large costs claims all the way through to advocacy at detailed assessment, I do not delegate any aspect of the work I do for you. My clients receive a costs service which aligns with their needs in a way a traditional costs firm does not, at fee rates which are extremely competitive. In order to deal with costs cases effectively it is necessary to grasp all the details of a case, both large and small. It is however important to keep the big picture in sight. Your firm is a business and if you act for the receiving party, it is important that you achieve a good costs recovery in a timely fashion, and that you minimise your outlay in doing so. I deliver good turnaround times and operate on the basis that an early payment on account of costs should be the norm, rather than a bonus, adopting a robust commercially-focussed approach to ensure such payments are made. Similarly, when acting for paying parties, you will find me dogged in ensuring your costs exposure is limited.
