Who you are

• 2+ years as Data Engineer or similar role
• Strong fundamentals in data-related disciplines (warehousing, modeling, science)
• Knowledge of ELT methodologies
• Experience with relational, document, or graph databases
• Experience with data lakes and data warehouses
• High standards in evaluating technical trade-offs and balanced solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Leadership and mentoring experience
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
• Positive and solution-oriented mindset
• Thrive in a fully remote organization
• Communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form

Desirables

• Startup environment experience
• Proficiency with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Prefect, Streamlit, Tableau
• Understanding of cloud computing technologies (S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Quicksight)
• Proven track record of building Dimensional Models
• Customer-first mindset and automation seeker
• Experience in building data pipelines using dbt and Python
• Love for data and making it consumable and meaningful

What the job involves

• Be part of an autonomous team of engineers to build, enhance, and maintain the Tackle Data Platform
• Solve moderately complex technical problems
• Generate reporting and analytics to support business processes
• Own your domain and code from start to finish, taking pride in what you build
• Mentor less experienced Data Engineers and learn from more experienced colleagues
• Participate in thorough code reviews and troubleshoot complex issues
• Be curious and strive to understand how your contributions tie into the larger picture
