Requirements
- Experience managing data or data platform engineers with delivery quality and team health accountability
- Strong SQL and Python with working fluency in Spark Airflow Dagster dbt Kafka queues and warehouse or lakehouse patterns
- Track record of owning and shipping a technical roadmap for platform investments
- Experience partnering with product managers on scoping estimating sequencing and trade-offs
- Operational maturity for production data systems on AWS including monitoring incident response and security
- Familiarity with data for AI or ML and agentic systems including feature pipelines evaluation datasets and feedback capture
- Experience hiring and growing engineers ideally in a distributed or async-first team

Day to day
- Lead the data engineering team through coaching hiring and performance management while staying close to technical decisions.
- Own the data platform roadmap including pipeline improvements orchestration tooling data quality and cost reliability priorities.
- Partner with product to turn ambiguous requirements into sequenced data deliverables and deliver robust datasets for AI and ML workflows.
