Requirements

  • Up-to-date knowledge about DevOps practices tools and technologies.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps engineer working on design and implementation of automated CI/CD pipelines to build quality check and deploy software infrastructure and data structures.
  • Strong Knowledge of cloud native technologies including Docker Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Strong knowledge of Git including branching and merge strategies.
  • Experience with CI tools particularly Azure Pipelines.
  • Configuration and secret management proficiency.
  • Experience building software using cloud native tools.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience scripting automated processes.
  • Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure particularly in Azure.

Day to day

  • The role will involve working closely with the DevOps manager Development Teams and other stakeholders to streamline software delivery and reduce the time from code change to deployment to production. This will include provisioning of infrastructure using terraform refinements to the development experience build pipeline test executions application configuration and the deployment process. This role will also provide technical guidance within the IT department to ensure that the proper architecture is implemented and any required changes in work practises and processes are followed.
  • The business has migrated to development and deployment with cloud native tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. We would like to embrace these technologies where possible to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • The primary goal is to provide a framework for the delivery of software that is properly documented communicated and implemented resulting in high quality software that is delivered frequently.
  • A successful candidate would be expected to work with and contribute to the standards for infrastructure as code using terraform cloud native deployments using Kubernetes and HELM and Database DevOps to rollout changes across the IT department.
