Remote Director Engineering II, Cloud Platform Job in United States Confluent

Who you are

• 10+ years of engineering management experience leading productive, collaborative, high-functioning teams in a cloud environment
• 5+ years developing cloud native infrastructure software at scale
• Experience building, managing and running large scale distributed systems in the cloud
• Demonstrated experience in effectively influencing and working with the exec team using effective communication and collaborative techniques

What the job involves

• Build a cloud platform with a regional infrastructure footprint to help scale Confluent Cloud into the new era of streaming data services
• Uplevel and overhaul operational posture and excellence of the cloud infrastructure to support 10x scale
• Build core platform technology pieces that can operate and scale across top three cloud providers - AWS, Azure, GCP
• Design automations, platforms, best practices and tools to enable disaster recovery of data stores, stateful systems and stateless systems
• Partner with senior leadership in R&D to drive cultural, technical, people and process improvements in a growing organization
