Requirements
- Have about 7-8 years of experience (PQE) as a UK employment lawyer within a law firm or as in-house counsel
- Be knowledgeable about EMEA employment-related legal systems and legislation
- Possess working knowledge of privacy law, mergers and acquisitions and experience with employee benefits and compensation programs
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills, including document drafting abilities
- Demonstrate keen attention to detail and the ability to exercise good judgment
- Ability to promote a compliance-based business culture
- Capable of managing complex, ambiguous situations and conflicts independently or as part of a team
- Possess exceptional organisational, project management, and stakeholder management skills
Day to day
- You will advise and support HR and RELX businesses in the UK and EMEA on the full range of labour and employment law matters that affect large, multi-national employers
- You will work with and across RELX businesses to help them fulfil strategies and achieve business goals
- You will provide legal advice on various topics, including HR policies, disciplinary processes, restructurings, data subject access requests, employment litigation, contingent labour, and executive recruitment/terminations
- You will conduct training on employment law issues for HR and management and support key changes in employment law for the UK and EMEA
- Additionally, you will supervise outside counsel, draft legal documents, and manage internal sensitive HR/legal projects
