Remote Financial Analyst Job in California, United States Earthjustice

Who you are

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or quantitative field with commensurate work experience
• At least three years of related work experience in finance or accounting positions
• Demonstrated knowledge of key accounting and budget principles as well as comprehensive experience with Excel
• Excellent communication skills, strong partnership orientation
• Process oriented with superior analytical and organizational skills, strong attention to detail
• Good recordkeeping, responsible time management, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Familiarity with technology including leveraging financial budgeting and reporting systems
• Experience with Planful is a plus but not required
• Non-profit experience and passion for the Earthjustice mission are preferred
• Awareness and sensitivity to needs and concerns of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds and orientations

What the job involves

• Supporting the FP&A needs of a portfolio of department and programs
• Assisting business units with organizational budget process, financial analyses and providing budget guidance
• Collaborating with budget managers and guiding stakeholders through the development and maintenance of department budgets
• Leading department budget meetings during the annual planning process
• Providing monthly and quarterly budget vs actual financial analyses
• Reporting financial results to FP&A Manager and Finance Leadership
• Communicating monthly financial results to stakeholders
• Completing regular transaction reviews for accuracy and compliance with policy
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reporting and key metrics to organizational leadership
• Supporting the organization in maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
• Assisting with preparation of state business registrations and other compliance reports.
