Role Overview

We are seeking a commercially focussed and technically skilled individual to take on the newly created role of Financial Controller within the business. You will work closely with the CFO and a talented Finance Manager to build an insightful and scalable finance function.

The ideal candidate will seek to enjoy a broad, hands-on role working with a high growth business. You will have a growth mindset, seek to make data-driven decisions and be comfortable working with peers outside of finance in a collaborative manner.

Key responsibilities:

Work with the CFO and executive team to establish more effective processes and controls across all areas of financial operationsHelp the development of, and adherence to, the company’s financial & accounting processes and policies to maintain a robust control frameworkLead business budgeting and forecasting to support short, medium and long-term business planning in collaboration with all key stakeholdersReview and analyse performance including relevant KPI & metrics reportingProvide the wider leadership team with support to achieve their objectives and collaborate to deliver business goalsMonitor and analyse overall business performance making proactive recommendations; creating mitigation plans as necessaryHold monthly reviews with departmental budget holders to provide insight and hold the team to account for their areasEnsure statutory compliance for all external reporting requirements including corporation tax, VAT, payroll etcLead and manage the annual audit process liaising with external auditorsPlay an ad-hoc role in delivering proposals on commercial opportunities

Candidate Specification:

Essential

Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, CPA or ACCA)Prior experience in a scaleup or high growth SMECommercially minded with a hands-on, proactive attitude and collaborative mindsetAbility to work in a fast-moving, dynamic environment while maintaining high-quality work with attention to detailSolid knowledge of accountancy and finance best practicesIn-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecastingPrevious experience in a similar Financial Controller role
