Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-2 years of experience in geospatial data engineering or a related role
  • Proficiency in Python programming and experience with libraries such as Xarray, rasterio, rioxarray and Geopandas in the production environment
  • Strong understanding of geospatial data formats, standards, and processing techniques
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure management, especially AWS, using tools like Terraform
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirables

  • Experience with AI-based software
  • Experience in developing enterprise software backend



What the job involves

  • As a Geospatial Data Engineer at Mitigrate, you will play a crucial role in processing, analysing, and managing geospatial data critical for our preventive measures.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, you will utilise your expertise in Python libraries like Xarray and Geopandas along with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, to develop and maintain robust and fully automated data pipelines deployed in the clouds.
  • Your role will be pivotal in enhancing our capabilities in remote sensing, machine learning, and geospatial analysis.
