Remote Global Media Officer Job in UK Plan International

Who you are

• Proven experience in a busy news/media organisation or PR/media relations team
• Excellent verbal and writing skills in English
• Ability to produce punchy news copy and adapt writing style for different audiences and media outlets
• Proven success at developing and placing media stories
• Ability to build productive relationships with journalists and pitch stories creatively
• Use of media monitoring platforms like Vuelio
• Strong knowledge of global media outlets and their requirements
• Ability to work under pressure and support colleagues
• Ability to persuade and influence peers and colleagues
• Experience tailoring communications to different audiences and channels including media, social media, and digital
• Understanding of ethical storytelling and media safeguarding
• Experience interviewing and working with programme participants in a sensitive manner
• Strong understanding of humanitarian and development issues and rights-based work
• Independent working and strong organisational skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and form collaborative relationships
