Requirements
- Practical experience with embedded systems or hardware reverse engineering
- Experience extracting firmware from undocumented or difficult devices
- Board-level debugging and electrical analysis skills
- Microsoldering rework chip removal or in-circuit probing experience
- Knowledge of embedded storage such as eMMC NAND NOR SPI flash or UFS
- Familiarity with JTAG SWD UART boot ROMs bootloaders or debug authentication
- Ability to read schematics datasheets ball maps or boardviews
- Experience with embedded architectures such as ARM MIPS PowerPC RISC-V Xtensa or Hexagon
- Understanding of secure boot encrypted storage TEEs or hardware-backed key storage
- Ability to write scripts or tools in Python C C++ Rust or similar
- Firmware reverse engineering using Ghidra Binary Ninja IDA Pro or similar

Day to day
- Build and operate a repeatable hardware security testing platform for difficult embedded targets
- Inspect boards trace signals identify components and discover access paths for firmware extraction
- Use lab equipment and custom tooling to extract validate and document firmware from protected systems
- Collaborate with researchers and produce organized technical notes pinouts images dumps and reproduction steps
