Remote Hardware Systems Engineer Job in United States Cloudflare

Who you are

• Experience developing firmware and embedded software
• Knowledge about servers enterprise systems and hardware interfaces
• Familiarity with Redfish standards
• Understanding of hardware security for servers
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Hands-on experience with building firmwares from open source codes, building demos & POCs, setting up systems, and running synthetic tests, and debugging complex firmware issues
• Ability to create Python or Bash scripts and edit firmware/driver source code

Desirables

• Experience with Yocto
• Experience with Buildroot

What the job involves

• Maintain and improve OpenBMC firmware
• Design and develop features based on various industry standards such as OCP and DMTF Standards
• Engage with vendors and guide them through our requirements
• Design solutions for observability and configurations for various server subsystems, such as DIMMs and NICs
• Partner with internal teams to understand hardware security requirements and build a roadmap of features
• Contribute to the hardware provisioning process in the hardware lab, especially concerning BIOS firmware settings and hardware tools
• Develop and review requirements code tests and design documents
