Requirements

  • LLB or law related degree or diploma
  • Current IAA Level 3 and IAAS accreditations
  • At least 3 years immigration and asylum advice and representation experience
  • Experience across private client corporate asylum human rights and nationality matters
  • Experience delivering training mentoring supervision or technical guidance
  • Experience working to Legal Aid or recognised legal quality standards
  • Experience preparing and managing appeals and complex immigration matters
  • Strong advocacy drafting and client management skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
  • Excellent knowledge of UK immigration legislation policy and procedure
  • Understanding and sensitivity to other cultures and asylum issues
  • Understanding of duty to the court and client
  • Professional oral and written communication skills

Day to day

  • Provide expert advice and representation across a wide range of UK immigration and asylum matters
  • Manage complex high-value cases from instruction through to conclusion and develop tailored legal strategies
  • Draft detailed legal documents and liaise with clients authorities and stakeholders while maintaining accurate case records and quality standards
