Requirements
- AA in drafting or AS in Instrumentation or Industrial Automation or equivalent technical school qualification
- Minimum three years of industrial or power plant design experience as an Instrument and Controls Designer
- Comprehensive understanding of instrument types and installation procedures
- Thorough understanding of documentation and document control procedures
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong mathematics skills including algebra and trigonometry
- Strong drafting and design knowledge in electrical mechanical piping structural or instrumentation disciplines
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D with standard system tools
- Strong knowledge of drafting symbols including ISA and SAMA
- Understanding of AutoCAD standards including Paper Space and Model Space
- Basic understanding of electronics electricity solid state digital devices PLC DCS transmitters transducers recorders
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and incorporate them into I&C design
- Ability to travel to job sites for startup commissioning and SAT phases

Day to day
- Plan, design, and support startup and commissioning of instrumentation in industrial control systems.
- Review and redline shop and panel drawings, then coordinate with panel shop and engineering teams to complete accurate I&C layouts.
- Prepare complete instrumentation lists, work with vendors for specification conformance, and troubleshoot PLC-related functionality during startup and testing.
