Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Active CPA license
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  • Mix of public accounting audit experience and industry accounting experience
  • Hands-on month-end close experience including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Experience preparing support schedules for financial statements and audits
  • Experience reviewing work prepared by others
  • Ability to maintain process and procedure documentation
  • Ability to assist with and own financial reporting and periodic tax filings
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-growth startup environment

Day to day

  • Lead month-end close activities and grow into ownership of core accounting processes.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, support schedules, and financial reporting documentation with accuracy.
  • Review junior staff work, give timely feedback, and coach the team while improving processes and controls.
  • Perform variance analysis, research accounting topics, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues and support audits.
