Who you are

• Hold an MSc or PhD in Data Science or Climate Science with industry experience (2+ years) or extensive industry experience (>5 years) without specific academic qualifications
• Possess experience with innovative insurance products from novel and new datasets
• Experienced in creating data pipelines and writing production-level code
• Proficient in Python and Postgres with the ability to choose the most effective tools for specific tasks

What the job involves

• Develop and implement innovative methodologies for monitoring and assessing carbon and biodiversity changes using satellite remote sensing data
• Analyse and interpret climate data to assess risks and impacts to carbon projects and their ability to store/sequester carbon
• Lead the integration of remote sensing data with climate models and ground measurements to improve risk assessment accuracy
• Collaborate with insurance product teams to design insurance products
• Create a knowledge base for the team internally and be an advocate for the company mission externally
• Assist the CEO in delivering robust risk methodologies to price insurance policies
