Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Word Excel and Outlook and other office tools including document review software eDiscovery technology and document management system.
  • Experience with Relativity strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of California litigation paralegal experience required.
  • Labor and employment law experience preferred.
  • Must possess paralegal certification completion from ABA-approved program or relevant qualifications as outlined.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required.

Day to day

  • Obtain and manage client documents including electronic data and determine potential existence of documents that may be relevant to each case.
  • Conduct litigation criminal and civil background checks and obtain properly authenticated records as needed.
  • Draft documents for attorney review including removal documents certificates of interested parties answers initial disclosures various motions and orders scheduling orders protective orders deposition notices affidavits and declarations discovery and our responses to discovery settlement agreements and dismissal documents.
  • Assist with drafting/preparing motions for summary judgment/adjudication assemble exhibits and create appendix.
  • Cite-check and Bluebook as required.
  • Identify and prepare documents for production including Bates labeling and redacting privileged and confidential information.
  • Assist in trial prep including managing exhibits and evidentiary matters witness lists files and subpoenas coordinate and attend witness prep meetings.
  • Conduct online research and utilize the firm’s electronic resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Effectively manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor timely seek assistance when needed.
  • Keep accurate time and billing records according to established policies and procedures.
