FiNC is building citizen-owned civic infrastructure designed to connect citizens directly with candidates and grassroots movements. Its central project, the Digital Politics Hub (DP Hub), helps citizens share their priorities, discover candidates aligned with their values, and connect with aligned communities and organizations. Candidates can claim profiles, define themselves on their own terms, and use features like Civic Tags, Candidate Discovery, and Candidate Clusters to increase visibility and collaboration. FiNC is focused on building the human side of civic tech first, including outreach, coordination, and citizen buy-in, with technology following the people. The platform is intended for citizens, candidates, movements, communities, and grassroots organizations seeking equal footing and clear rules, and it is politically agnostic by design.

FiNC (Future is Now Coalition)

Civic infrastructure for a democracy that actually works. Not Left. Not Right. Just representation.

A mission worth building for, on a model you should understand before you apply. FiNC is changing how politics works in America, and we are Crowd-Starting it. Contributor roles are not paid yet; compensation is deferred. Full details in the Crowd-Starting section below.

About FiNC
We're assembling a coalition to change how politics works. Forever.
Everything is an angle now. Every call is a scam, every app is running a play on you, and when something actually goes wrong there's nobody to call. Everyone you can reach has no power. Everyone with power is unreachable.
FiNC (The Future is Now Coalition) is citizens, candidates, and communities who all landed on the same thing: the system isn't broken, it's rigged, and it's working exactly as it was built to work.
3 middlemen decide which candidates you ever hear about: big money, party gatekeepers, and media manipulation. They control the money, the access, and the visibility every candidate needs to win. So they decide who wins before anyone votes, and good people run for office and stay invisible.
Once you know it's there, you see it everywhere. Each move looks like a one-off: a sudden outrage, a single bad vote, a new crisis to react to. But they're the same 5 rigged patterns, repeating.
Spotting them is what the Digital Politics Lens is for. Most of what we want, we want together: safer neighborhoods, schools that work, a shot at getting ahead, a government that listens. Left and right is the argument you were handed. The deeper question that matters is which way your leader is facing: up toward the people who fund them, or down toward the people who elected them.
Here's why this can work when nothing else has. Every movement, third party, and reform group is pushing against the same status quo, and all of them are pushing alone. They were all trying to win. We're assembling the thing they all stand under. Citizens say what they care about, candidates say who they are, and the 2 sides connect with nobody in between.
The coalition is the product. The DP Hub at hub.futureis.org is a tool that supports it, not the thing we're selling. Both are early: the DP Hub is live and close to empty, and the coalition is small. That's not the weak part of the pitch. Growing it is the job.
Our work is the human side: outreach, PR, social, and citizen buy-in. Not tech: that mostly exists already, spread across other civic groups. What's missing is the coalition. We're not marketing a website. We're campaigning for a better way to choose leaders.
We're also built closer to a cooperative than a traditional nonprofit. Team members here are partners and co-architects, not employees.
We can't change the rules yet, so we're changing the game.
Join our coalition. Change how politics works. Forever.

IMPORTANT: This involves DELAYED COMPENSATION – Please read carefully
To maintain our independence and avoid conflicts of interest, we are not accepting investors or financing that comes with strings attached. Instead, we are Crowd-Starting FiNC: building it together from the ground up.
We ask team members to contribute 15 to 20 hours per week during this phase, with compensation deferred until we are operational. That includes the Founder, who has not drawn a salary and will not until the team does.
This model only works if you see it as a short-term investment for a long-term return. Contributors who build this with us earn an ownership stake in FiNC.
We are an LLC today because we needed a legal home to start from. We are building toward something akin to a nonprofit cooperative, where the people who build the organization own it, and we operate not for profit in the meantime.
This model filters for people who believe in the mission deeply enough to build alongside us. It is not for everyone, and that is okay.

Job Description
FiNC is looking for 2 Content Writers to sit at the core of our messaging. These are the people who explain what we're building, in language that stays clear without going shallow.
This role is copy-first. You'll work alongside graphic designers, other writers, and content creators. Your job is the language: the voice, the framing, and the explanations everything else gets built on.
Long-form is 1 initiative here, and it runs at 2 altitudes. Evergreen explains the core ideas and doesn't age. Blogs connect those ideas to what's happening this week. Everyone on this team writes both, and the balance shifts over time based on what you're best at.
Leading the initiative is a possibility, not a requirement. If one of you grows into running long-form, that is a great outcome and we would welcome it. It is not something you have to want, and it is not what we are screening for. Write well and the rest is optional.
What you'll doListed in priority order. Evergreen is most of the job.
1. Evergreen contentEvergreen is our permanent explainer layer. Not news, and not a blog that ages out in a week. Each piece answers 1 question all the way down: what money in politics actually buys, who the establishment is, what representation really means, and what we're doing about all of it. Longer than a blog, heavier on visuals (via our Graphic Designers), updated as the work moves, and eventually interactive.Write the pages themselves, start to finishTurn each one into video scripts and short posts so the same idea travels past the pageCome back and update them as our language and our work evolve
2. Website and Digital Politics Hub copyRewrite what's live now: homepage, landing pages, section copy, buttons, and the short lines that decide whether someone stays or leavesKeep the website and the Digital Politics Hub saying the same thing in the same voice
3. BlogsTimely pieces tied to what's happening right now. Same craft as Evergreen, aimed at the moment instead of the long haul
4. Social copy, occasionallyCaptions, hooks, headlines, and CTAs when the team needs them. This is support work here, not the main job
What we're looking for3+ years writing explainers, long-form marketing, editorial, or narrative-driven campaigns (or equivalent)Nice to have, not required: experience running a content initiative, setting standards, or mentoring other writersA strong conceptual writer who can make complex ideas simple without making them shallowSkilled at structure, rhythm, and persuasion: you can hold a long argument together and you can still write tightComfortable writing for the page and for the ear. An article and a script are different jobs and you can do bothYou know when a picture beats a paragraph, and you can brief a designer on what it needs to showCollaborative and proactive: you take ownership, communicate clearly, and iterate fastMission-aligned, with the ability to write in a way that feels human, credible, and energizing
Why this role mattersMost people never get a clear explanation of how politics actually works, because nobody in the current system gains from giving them one. Evergreen is our answer to that. You'll write the pages citizens send to a friend when they're trying to explain why they joined.
