Requirements
- Strong mathematics skills and the ability to carry out manual payroll calculations
- Ability to run manual payroll calculations to include tax, NIC, student loans, and pension deductions
- Ability to process payroll from end to end including year-end procedures
- Ability to use excel including use of formulas including v look-ups and pivot tables
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ideally, hold a relevant payroll qualification
- Experience with a modified payroll would be an advantage but not essential
Nice to have
- Knowledge of payroll regulations including ITEPTA, Pension regulations, WTR, and AWR
- Knowledge of and calculations of statutory payments
- Understanding of termination and redundancy payments along with effective management of earnings for NI and Tax purposes
- Understanding of varying pension schemes including salary sacrifice schemes
- Understanding of Directors NI
- Understanding of SIP schemes and LTIPs
Day to day
- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Team Leader to join our team in Cheshire working in a payroll bureau and consultancy environment.
- The role will suit an experienced payroll team leader or someone with strong payroll experience looking to step up into a payroll manager role.
- This is a fast-paced role leading managing the end-to-end payroll for multiple clients in an outsourced arrangement.
- You will be working independently to support clients but will have additional support from the wider payroll team at CE Back Office.
- This will either be a full-time role supporting several clients and team members.
