Requirements

  • Strong mathematics skills and the ability to carry out manual payroll calculations
  • Ability to run manual payroll calculations to include tax, NIC, student loans, and pension deductions
  • Ability to process payroll from end to end including year-end procedures
  • Ability to use excel including use of formulas including v look-ups and pivot tables
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ideally, hold a relevant payroll qualification
  • Experience with a modified payroll would be an advantage but not essential

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of payroll regulations including ITEPTA, Pension regulations, WTR, and AWR
  • Knowledge of and calculations of statutory payments
  • Understanding of termination and redundancy payments along with effective management of earnings for NI and Tax purposes
  • Understanding of varying pension schemes including salary sacrifice schemes
  • Understanding of Directors NI
  • Understanding of SIP schemes and LTIPs

Day to day

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Team Leader to join our team in Cheshire working in a payroll bureau and consultancy environment.
  • The role will suit an experienced payroll team leader or someone with strong payroll experience looking to step up into a payroll manager role.
  • This is a fast-paced role leading managing the end-to-end payroll for multiple clients in an outsourced arrangement.
  • You will be working independently to support clients but will have additional support from the wider payroll team at CE Back Office.
  • This will either be a full-time role supporting several clients and team members.
