Requirements

  • 12+ years in DBA SRE or Data Engineering roles
  • Deep expertise with MySQL Postgres and AWS Redshift or similar
  • Advanced SQL proficiency
  • Hands-on experience with data replication and ETL ELT frameworks such as DBT AWS DMS or similar
  • Strong understanding of data modeling distributed systems and warehouse or lake design patterns
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Experience using Claude or equivalent large language model tools

Day to day

  • Own the database and data warehousing infrastructure end to end, including KPIs and SLAs for MySQL Postgres CDC capture and Redshift
  • Lead database and query performance optimizations and build tooling for migrations upgrades and ongoing infrastructure improvements
  • Partner with development teams to ship reliable queries against a resilient schema and evolve data systems for high-volume writes events and complex ETL
  • Evaluate integrate and guide new technologies to advance Sezzle’s data infrastructure and help analysts and engineers improve warehouse performance cost and modeling
