Who you are

• Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on system architecture and design
• Strong understanding of experimentation methodologies, including A/B testing and rapid prototyping
• Proficiency in CDC, AWS, GCP
• Expertise in planning, executing, and monitoring projects, often using Agile or other methodologies
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience leading data platform engineering teams and maintaining high standards of quality
• Attributes and motivations to grow the talent in the team

What the job involves

• Own and deliver org/company-wide multi-year, multi-team goals with technical expertise.
• Design and evaluate system architectures, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Ensure smooth integration of the recent acquisition of Syft Analytics into Xero's mission to provide powerful insights.
• Influence technical strategy and collaborate with heads of engineering and senior leadership.
• Break down silos within and across functions and build cross-functional relationships.
• Drive engineering-wide processes and define quality and best practices.
• Champion a culture of experimentation and innovation.
