Remote Principal Software Engineer Job in UK Grafana Labs

Who you are

• Ability to take ownership and drive technical and business conversations
• Passion for observability with the ability to share knowledge through documentation and blog posts
• Experience engaging with customers and providing assistance
• Excellent communication skills
• Relevant open source experience, ideally in OpenTelemetry or Prometheus
• Willingness to become an active member of the OpenTelemetry community
• Curiosity and enjoyment in learning new programming languages and frameworks setting up examples, and figuring out how things work
• Good understanding of typical production environments with experience in operating production services and organizing on-call
• Mentorship skills for other team members, identifying areas for focus and improvement.

• Collaborate in open-source communities
• Contribute to OpenTelemetry specification and components across various programming languages
• Support and lead the technical direction of the team and drive business conversations on OpenTelemetry strategy
• Teach others, promote best practices around OpenTelemetry, semantic conventions within Grafana Labs and the broader OpenTelemetry community
• Meet regularly using video calls.
