Remote Project Costing Analyst Job in San Antonio, TX Microsoft

Who you are

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field and 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field.
• OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field and 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field.
• OR equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and organizational policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, cost accounting, auditing, budget and forecasting, and/or accounts receivable.
• Ability to develop and utilize budgeting guidelines, practices, and techniques, including forecasting.
• Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desirables

• Data Center financial planning/analysis with a focus on TCO benchmarking
• Worked with financial analysis
• Technical analysis
• Familiar with preparing ROI and financial models
• Experience in presenting financial findings to leadership
• Experience in resource planning aligned with strategic thinking

What the job involves

• Evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO) for projects including bill of materials, hardware, software, energy, and staffing.
• Develop financial models to assess ROI for data center projects and forecast scenarios for expansion, retrofits, and upgrades.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and collaborate with procurement stakeholders.
• Present cost analysis and ROI findings to leadership and strategically plan headcount and resources.
• Support Microsoft's growth by embodying company culture and values.
