Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
- 7+ years experience in custom automation machine building or related engineering environments
- Experience with custom automation quoting cost estimating and proposal development preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of engineering principles machine design geometric tolerancing and technical drawings
- Knowledge of mechanical pneumatic and electrical systems in automated machinery
- General understanding of electrical and pneumatic control systems
- Familiarity with machining and fabrication processes including lathe work milling boring and welding
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Strong communication interpersonal organizational and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license required

Day to day
- Develop accurate cost estimates and compelling proposals for custom automation systems tailored to customer needs
- Evaluate drawings tolerances production goals and technical specifications to determine feasibility and solution quality
- Create conceptual machine designs 3D renderings and technical presentations using SolidWorks and supporting software
- Collaborate with leadership engineering sales and customers to refine solutions and support business growth
- Prepare detailed proposal packages estimate operator task times and maintain project timelines to meet deadlines
