Remote Senior Automation Tester Job in UK Amber Labs

Who you are

• Demonstrated experience in testing applications hosted on AWS
• Familiarity with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and public sector project requirements
• Expertise in developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks
• Strong background in testing APIs, UIs, and web services
• Proficiency in Java programming
• Extensive experience in Selenium WebDriver using Java
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB for database testing
• In-depth understanding of HTTP protocols and RESTful services
• Solid knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), and Agile principles
• Experience with Cucumber for BDD test automation
• Proficient in using Git for version control
• Experience in setting up and managing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
• Skilled in using Jira for defect tracking and test management
• Basic shell scripting skills in Unix/OSX environments

What the job involves

• Design, develop, and execute automated tests for AWS-based applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement testing strategies in line with Agile methodologies
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and Java
• Perform API testing using tools and frameworks such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar
• Ensure the reliability and performance of web services and UI components
• Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins
• Write and execute test scripts using TDD and BDD methodologies
• Conduct database testing with MongoDB
• Perform basic Unix/OSX shell scripting for test automation tasks
