Remote Senior Backend Software Engineer Job in United States Airbnb

Who you are

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend or full-stack development
• Bachelor’s and or Master’s degree in CS or equivalent experience
• Experience working in Java or Kotlin within a microservice architecture at scale
• Passion for efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system quality
• Passion for design and UX, focus on user-centric products
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working on a product team or customer-centric software for medium to large engineering organization

Desirables

• Experience with complex interactive UIs across multiple client platforms
• Experience developing on iOS Android or Web

What the job involves

• Develop highly-impact product features on Airbnb’s search and other high-traffic surfaces
• Work closely with cross-functional partners to bring new features from design to production
• Prototype new features to collect feedback and iterate for ideal product solutions
• Advise stakeholders on technical scope and feasibility of complex product requirements
• Write technical specifications for new features and systems
• Provide mentorship to junior team members for their career and technical growth
