Remote Senior CloudOps Engineer Job in UK Fortra

Who you are

• 7+ years in DevOps or cloud operations
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field (preferred)
• Certification in Microsoft Azure or equivalent cloud certification (preferred)
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Tekton and Jenkins
• Proficient in IaC with Pulumi, Terraform
• Familiarity with CD tools like Flux CD or Argo CD
• Knowledge of React/Northstar frameworks
• Experience with Azure Cloud Operations and Administration
• Managing Linux/UNIX, Windows, and MacOS
• Proficiency in Python scripting
• Proficiency in SRE principles focusing on Problem Management, Availability Management, and SLA Management
• Ability to implement observability practices and respond to incidents
• Managing Kubernetes infrastructure and support
• Expertise in cloud networking in Kubernetes environments
• Deploying web and service-based applications in Windows and Linux
• Debugging logical, syntactical, and run-time issues efficiently
• Robust application logging for security and auditing
• Integrating and working with web service APIs
• Knowledge of VPC Configuration, Networking, Security Groups, Firewalls, NAT, and packet filtering
• Working knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing

Desirables

• Familiarity with React/Northstar frameworks
• Ability to debug logical, syntactical, and run-time issues efficiently

What the job involves

• Develop cutting-edge technical solutions on cloud infrastructure, focusing on scalability, reliability, security, automation, and performance
• Execute tasks such as platform upgrades, server patching, monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation
• Provide 24/7 support as part of an on-call rotation team to respond to infrastructure alerts and inquiries
• Define and uphold critical cloud policies on Security, SLAs, Disaster Recovery, Shared Responsibility, Acceptable Use, and Data Retention
• Participate in discussions on cloud strategy, contributing insights and aiding decisions on cloud design and implementation
• Undertake other assigned duties
