Requirements

  • Juris Doctor or international equivalent degree
  • 6+ years practicing attorney experience in labor law
  • Experience with collective bargaining organizing activity agency hearings and labor arbitration
  • Active law license in a jurisdiction and ability to meet admission requirements in a relevant jurisdiction
  • Willingness to travel frequently to Irvine campus and other locations as needed
  • Extensive experience drafting negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
  • Strong judgment balancing legal analysis business goals risk tolerance and stakeholder priorities
  • Project management skills and ability to meet deadlines amid competing priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Day to day

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on collective bargaining labor relations and employee engagement matters
  • Provide strategic legal counsel on evolving labor law grievances unfair labor practice charges and related proceedings
  • Partner with Legal HR Labor Relations Employee Relations Communications and business leaders to build inclusive practical long-term labor strategies
