Remote Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer Job in California, United States Microsoft

Who you are

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, or Python
• 4+ years professional experience in embedded firmware or device driver development
• Experience developing tests for firmware or device drivers
• Experience with embedded communications protocols (SPI, I2C, UART)
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements

Desirables

• Experience with ARM architecture
• Experience with hardware debugging environments
• Experience with silicon datasheets
• Experience with pre-silicon environments
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Power Shell

What the job involves

• Develop embedded firmware for ARM systems focusing on power management, subsystem initialization, telemetry, and communications.
• Leverage pre-silicon and post-silicon environments to debug and validate firmware.
• Collaborate with hardware and partner teams to refine system requirements and design firmware features.
• Own significant feature areas and maintain test and QA infrastructure.
• Design and automate tests and tools in frameworks like ROBOT.
