Requirements

  • Degree in Fire Engineering or related engineering discipline with fire modules
  • IFE membership or working toward Chartered Engineer status
  • Minimum 5 years fire safety engineering experience
  • Deep knowledge of UL 9540A NFPA 855 BS and IEC standards
  • Experience with large-scale fire testing and interpretation of results
  • Familiarity with ESS hardware development and BESS enclosure designs
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate across global teams and external consultants
  • Flexibility to travel and work across time zones

Day to day

  • Provide fire safety guidance during the design and development of battery energy storage systems for global markets.
  • Evaluate system layouts, battery configurations, ventilation strategies, and fire detection arrangements to strengthen safety and compliance.
  • Support product validation, project engineering, regulatory tracking, and documentation across EMEA projects, including fire testing reviews and customer or authority inquiries.
