Requirements
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
- Minimum five years of equipment or component design experience
- Experience with 3D CAD preferably SolidWorks
- Experience with design of experiments and product testing
- Experience with finite element stress analysis and mechanical analysis methods
- Experience with first principles calculations and commercial stress analysis tools especially ANSYS
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal direction and manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III or Section VIII desirable
- Excellent attention to detail

Day to day
- Develop conceptual and preliminary design solutions for reactor core components reactor structures and Nuclear Island components
- Coordinate engineering and project inputs to produce robust equipment and component designs
- Lead design reviews present results and mentor junior engineers and subcontractors while supporting continuous improvement
