Requirements
- 3+ years of consumer product design experience with injection molding sheet metal forming and sensor or electronics integration
- Experience shipping high-volume consumer products with manufacturing support in Asia
- Highly proficient with 3D modeling such as Solidworks NX or Creo
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes DFM DFA tolerance analysis functional dimensioning and GD&T
- Solid understanding of root cause analysis DOEs and quality measuring techniques
- BSME or equivalent
- Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed
Day to day
- Architect and design complex electromechanical systems with plastic metal and soft goods components integrated with sensors and actuators
- Drive products through brainstorming CAD prototyping testing and ramp into production in Asia
- Solve cross functional engineering problems with electrical software reliability and manufacturing teams
- Perform thermal fluid and structural analyses to ensure designs meet product goals
- Collaborate with industrial design marketing product teams and leadership to shape product direction
