Who you are

• Experience working with the infrastructure of open-source databases
• Strong conceptual understanding of high availability and failover design
• Database and OS performance tuning and performance testing experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving issues independently
• Experience with cloud solutions
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure code deployment
• Demonstrable usage experience of Git and designing version control process methodologies
• Knowledge of database and OS observability tools
• Strong fundamentals of Linux/Unix system knowledge

Desirables

• Knowledge of Kubernetes/Kafka
• Experience in a distributed remote environment
• Proficiency in Python Django
• Strong proficiency in English

What the job involves

• Continuously improving the reliability and performance of existing open-source database platforms both cloud and on-prem solutions
• Collaborate with other application engineering teams to deploy Cassandra cluster schema design and performance tuning to meet business requirements for critical products
• Provide sufficient support for scaling upgrade and other operation tasks
• Plan the growth and manage the capacity and the life-cycle of the current production open-source database platforms
• Strategize on building proactive monitoring and alerting to pre-empt outages
• Support OnCall for GMT and IST time zone
