Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Significant experience in primary design within HV substations 33kV–400kV
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international standards and utility requirements
  • Proven ability to lead design tasks and review the work of others
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status

Day to day

  • Lead and deliver primary engineering designs for HV substations and power infrastructure projects
  • Produce and review layouts GA drawings equipment specifications and technical reports
  • Work closely with clients contractors project managers and multidisciplinary teams across the project lifecycle
  • Provide technical guidance checking mentoring and support to junior engineers
  • Contribute to planning cost estimates risk assessment and process improvement
