Remote Senior Privacy Counsel Job in UK Twilio

Who you are

• 3-5 years post-qualification experience in data protection/privacy law
• Qualified to practice in an EU jurisdiction, the UK or another common law jurisdiction
• Experience negotiating data protection terms of commercial agreements from a B2B perspective
• Experience reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments and providing practical, risk-based guidance
• Well-versed in global privacy laws, especially GDPR
• Experience supporting security incident situations, notifications and communications with EU regulators and data subjects
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Quick learner with a strong work ethic, sense of initiative, and good sense of humor

Desirables

• Familiarity with additional global laws (CCPA, PIPEDA, LGPD, APPI, UK Data Protection Act, etc)
• Familiarity with AI/ML
• At least one CIPP certification

What the job involves

• Partner with various stakeholders throughout Twilio to provide practical legal advice ensuring compliance with laws and privacy best practices
• Draft and negotiate data protection agreements
• Perform privacy impact assessments and provide guidance on data protection laws
• Assist with supplier privacy reviews and ongoing monitoring
• Coordinate with a global team of privacy attorneys to scale and improve processes
• Perform privacy M&A due diligence and integration
• Monitor and provide expert guidance in security incident situations
• Provide privacy legal support for B2B marketing and advertising activities
• Work cross-functionally ensuring company-wide compliance with privacy requirements
