Who you are

• Experience with HMRC tax incentives for high-end TV productions including Cultural Test applications and Tax Credit monitoring and audits
• Experience with major funders such as BBC Netflix Disney and Google
• Background in Natural History and/or Documentary productions
• Previous experience with PMI
• Confident interaction with production teams and senior management
• Great team player understanding the importance of the relationship between production and finance
• Adapt to the changing production environment in a growing company

What the job involves

• Collaborate with the Head of Production, Production Executive, and Production Managers to ensure accurate cost reporting to funders monthly or quarterly as required
• Manage the Finance Coordinator and Payroll and Finance Officer, including supervising their day-to-day work and providing training as needed
• Manage workloads, authorize transactions, maintain compliance with UK and international tax rules, and keep transactions flowing through the system
• Serve as the point of contact for production finance queries related to compliance and managing issues during filming, often in remote areas
• Work with Production Management to develop budgets, create and manage cash flows, and calculate tax credits, ensuring maximum recoveries from production budgets
• Issue invoices to funders and broadcasters in line with production milestones to ensure prompt receipt of cash
• Manage timing of month-end tasks and closing ledgers in PMI to meet group and production reporting deadlines
• Manage year-end production audits, liaise with auditors, and handle relevant tax credit claims
• Oversee production clear-up and close-down procedures, including preparing applicable materials for tax credit and managing SPV audits for productions
• Be ready and eager to manage all aspects of the role, which will evolve over time as production demands change
